Director-General of Tunisia’s Customs Mohamed Said Jaouadi stressed the need to co-operate for a better flow of trade between Tunisia and Morocco, especially, he said, as the established preferential frameworks aim essentially at achieving economic complementarity.

Participants in this event emphasized that the trade relations between Tunisia and Morocco recorded a significant development but remain below the existent potentials.

According to the representative of CEPEX, the volume of exchanges remains not much developed or diversified, despite the existence of a favorable opportunity, particularly bilateral and multilateral preferential agreements (bilateral agreement signed in 1999, multilateral agreement as part of the Arab free- exchange zone and the Agadir agreement).

The event aims at strengthening trade information, ensuring compliance with regulations in force, increasing business contacts between both countries’ economic operators.
